Up to the Date y'all

Sooo that last post about me blogging more was apparently a lie. So sorry.... But as a little update on things. Work is kinda blah right now. I feel like I am over it, but I really think that I am just over the location that I am currently working. There is talk of transfers about to happen so hopefully I will go to a different store. Both of the general managers of the other two stores here in Vegas have told me that they are trying to get me in their stores. So fingers crossed! But on top of all of that I have been talked to about being sent to the San Francisco bay area, Chicago, and Nashville. I told them that I really don't want to move again especially since I would be doing all of it on my own, and I have a lot more stuff now than I did when I moved to Vegas. They understood that but they may send me to help out for a few weeks to the different locations. So that is super exciting news. Lets me know that I am doing something right still! Other than that I am not really doing very much. Just working a TON and trying to keep up with everything at my place, (which I am not being very successful with currently). Oh and I am going to try to join a gym or something soon so I can get in some better shape. I mean I look fine but I am a weak girl these days. Gone are the days of being called Xena by my family. I am a weakling now! And pool season in Vegas is a huge deal so I'll be hitting the gym and tightening things up. Not that y'all really care about that last bit but it's what's going on with me. Love you all and hopefully I don't wait another 6 months to do a blog...

Fun Fun Fun

I was able to go to the most AMAZING CONCERT EVER!!! Journey and Foreigner!! I had soooo much fun at it! They were so good!!!! I have some videos but I can't figure out how to get them from my phone to my computer..... I will have to figure it out later.

They played all of my favorite songs too. My friend and I tried to sneak down to the floor level during one of the songs, and we actually made it down there. We were going past this one lady and she asked to see our tickets. We were busted. We totally would have made it if we had cut down one of the rows before we got to the lady. We got too ambitious.... so we went back to our seats and watched the rest of the concert from there.... until the end and then we smooth talked another lady and she let us all the way down to the row right before you got to the floor. My phone had died by then and the last song was Don't Stop Believing... I was pretty sad that I couldn't get a video of it was ok. There was confetti and fire and it was very extravagant.
During one of the ballads, Open Arms, I got the whole lighter thing going on. Until someone came and told me no lighters..... really no lighters??? I was flabbergasted.... So I had to resort to my cell phone..... Lame!... Since when could you not do lighters at a concert???

Well that's about all I have to say about the whole thing.... It was amazing, and as soon as I figure out how to get the videos from phone to computer they will be up here.

In the mean time here are a couple pictures of me that I took tonight....

The one above is almost the smile I give to the guys at work so they will do whatever I want.... It works every time. They pretty much don't know what hit them.... as Adam says I am the bossiest person he knows.... the guys I work with don't even know I am being bossy, and I love it. I love that I can get them to do whatever with just a little smile and an eye flutter.... HAHA!!! The really funny thing is that my general manager knows it and he takes complete advantage of it too! He will have me tell the boys to do things all the time because he knows the power I hold.... He has been victim of it as well so he knows. Haha.... anyway moving on...

A somewhat funny face. I kinda missed my "cheese" buddy while I was taking these..... made the funny faces not as much fun, and not as funny.

And I just figured out how to get the videos from phone to computer, so be ready for videos to come. And don't judge me in the videos, I was way excited and did not care that I was off key and sounding awful.
Peace and Love!

Oh and P.S. Dad I was able to get the pictures from our adventure to Las Vegas so I will blog those soon for you too.

And I know this post is a little all over the place but that's just how my brain is going right now. Be glad you aren't in my head.

In the 89148

Well I'm here.... in Vegas. It's pretty cool. I like it so far. The only thing that would make it better would be the family living here too. Hint hint... No I'm kidding... But seriously hint... ;)

I'm loving the restaurant. It is so good to love my job again!! I love the people I work with too. The only thing that kinda blows about it is that I cannot be friends with them outside of work. The whole I'm their boss thing gets in the way again. Grrrr. Oh well I will survive. Gets lonely at times but it's ok.
But anyway, lets see what has happened in the past 2 months.... My sweet dad and I drove out here together. We had a good time on the  looooooong drive. We had gobstoppers and gummy bears to keep us entertained. We stopped by the Hoover Dam on the way. We did not do the dam tour... it was too hot and I didn't like that you had to pay to get in the visitor center and then pay to go on the tour as well. Call me cheap but I thought it was ridiculous. And it was crazy hot that day too. After the dam we make it to my apartment, and I sign my life away. The next morning I take my dad to the airport and have to say good bye to him. That was pretty hard.
Two and a half weeks later, the movers finally get here with my stuff. I get everything all settled in and what not. And now here I am in my big ole apartment that is now furnished.... kinda. There are still some things that I still need to get... like a table and chairs is the main thing I need. And then just some decorative things. I'm so indecisive about it all though. I want to get everything at the same time so I can get everything that goes together, and then come home do it and just be done with it.
Last weekend I went and saw my dad's parents in Utah. It was fun! I have a new dislike for the city of Beaver, UT though. The most expensive gas stop I have ever made and probably ever will make. I stop and start pumping gas into my car. There is a mechanic shop attached to the gas station, and one of the mechanics starts walking in my direction. I see him walking and I think it is kinda weird. I finish pumping my gas and am about to go inside to kinda walk around a bit and maybe grab a snack. I see the mechanic kneel down by my front tire and he checks my tire pressure. Tells me my pressure is low and that he will fill it up for free for me. I'm thinking sweet. So I drive over to the air pump he is about to fill it up, and I here him go uh oh. I know that's not good. He tells me to come on over to look at the tire. I thought maybe I had a nail in it or something. Oh no I the beginnings of a pretty good size bubble forming on my tire, and dry rot. I needed a new tire. He then went around to all of my tires and they were all like the first one. He asked me how far I was going and I told him just out side Salt Lake. He tells me that my tires most likely will not make it to salt lake with how bad they are, so I don't get one new tire, not two new tires, but FOUR new tires! And since it was a small town they only had one tire that fit my car, and they were $140/tire after the small discount he gave me. My little stop to get gas ended up costing me $700 after all was said and done. It was awful. But I'm pretty sure he probably saved my life since the speed limit is 80 almost the whole way there and if I had had a blow out going 80.... it would have most likely been death for me. So thanks mechanic guy in beaver, I guess I owe you! Once I got to the grandparents it was great I had a wonderful visit. I got to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with them. I was sad to leave but duty called at work. I'll be up again too see them soon though.
Lately I have just been working and trying to figure out what I am going to do with my apartment now. I'm going to look at paint swatches tomorrow, and maybe buy some paint to start making this place a home. We shall see.
Oh and I have no idea how I have internet connection right now, but I thought I'd take advantage of it while I could.

Moving On Up!!!

So it has been a little minute since I have posted anything...... oops...... Lets see what's happened.... I finally got out of Galveston...... praise the Lord!!! From there I got transferred to the location on the Kemah Boardwalk... I loved it there. I was with a management team that actually liked me and cared about things. It was awesome. Right after I got there I got a call from a regional manager telling me that I had an interview for another managing position that I had expressed interest in. I got to the interview, and was asked OK Charlissa, would you rather go to Cali or Vegas? Caught me off guard a little bit. I told him that Cali would be cool since I had some family there, but I'd go where he needed me the most. He needed me in Vegas. SOOOO....... I am getting a promotion of sorts, and moving to Las Vegas, NV....... I am leaving Vegas right now after being here for 2 weeks and pretty much getting a next to royal treatment. The car we got the first day was the company Bently.... then the next day we got the Escalade.... the room was comp'd pretty much all expenses paid for. It's been awesome. I was here to do some training for the new concept I will be with. It's called Claim Jumper. The food is AWESOME!!! I think I have gained 5 lbs in 2 weeks from the food. I have found a place to live here and will officially be a Nevadian on Aug 8th.... pending corporate approval. They are going to pay all the moving fees and what not. I am really excited about this move. I'm nervous, apprehensive, and sad to leave everyone in Texas, but I think this will be a very good move for me. Not to mention that out of all the Saltgrass managers they chose me to come and help them with all the changes that are taking place.... Huge deal BTW. From what I have seen so far the locals are all really nice, and very inviting to come and join them. I have some pictures but since I am at the airport right now I can't really do much.

Also..... this means I will be closer to family in California and Utah..... hello 2 days off a week to come visit..... Its gunna be good!!!

Hailey and Sippy

Today while Hailey and Cassie and Jonny were over visiting for the day, I brought out my laptop and I remembered that I have a cool feature on it that Hailey would most likely love... She did of course. We took some pretty fun pictures using my Mac.

Oh Galveston...

When I got back from Amarillo I was transferred yet again to beloved Galveston Island. So I am now a manger there, and it is awesome. I get to meet all kinds of new people. ANd I have had experiences that I probably wouldn't ever get anywhere else. I've had a bum try to steal an armadillo from my bar, and had to ask him to give it back to me. He did. I've had to kick that same bum out of my restaurant because he was looking for free food and we don't do that. I've had to ask people to put clothes on over their swimsuits.... Never thought I would have to ask someone to put more clothes on, I thought it was a given when you go to a family restaurant. I had to tell a guy just the other night that we could no longer serve him alcohol. Luckily for me he was understanding and I didn't have to call the cops on him. I GET to have the privilege of the locals and BOI (born on the island) folks to come in to my store. They all think that if they bring that up when I go talk to them that they are going to get something from me... they're not. I don't care if you are a local or not, you are going to be treated just the same as everyone else that comes into the place. When I have people tell me that they are locals or BOI I want to say something to the effect of why? Like why did they stick around this awful place... If you read this and you are a local or BOI I apologize, however that is how I feel. Everyday I work I get to watch the ocean and hate my life for being stuck inside on beautiful days when the water looks so inviting.

On the plus side, I do have some great people that work with me that make the 45+ minute drive, and all the crap, some what worth it. They all like me, and work really hard. It may be a little scary at times there in Galveston, but it's really an ok place at the end of the day when I leave. I'm just ready to be done and move on to bigger and better places. And by bigger and better I mean anywhere besides Galveston. I tried to get pictures of the beloved place to upload but I couldn't for some reason. I will try again later.
