In the 89148

Well I'm here.... in Vegas. It's pretty cool. I like it so far. The only thing that would make it better would be the family living here too. Hint hint... No I'm kidding... But seriously hint... ;)

I'm loving the restaurant. It is so good to love my job again!! I love the people I work with too. The only thing that kinda blows about it is that I cannot be friends with them outside of work. The whole I'm their boss thing gets in the way again. Grrrr. Oh well I will survive. Gets lonely at times but it's ok.
But anyway, lets see what has happened in the past 2 months.... My sweet dad and I drove out here together. We had a good time on the  looooooong drive. We had gobstoppers and gummy bears to keep us entertained. We stopped by the Hoover Dam on the way. We did not do the dam tour... it was too hot and I didn't like that you had to pay to get in the visitor center and then pay to go on the tour as well. Call me cheap but I thought it was ridiculous. And it was crazy hot that day too. After the dam we make it to my apartment, and I sign my life away. The next morning I take my dad to the airport and have to say good bye to him. That was pretty hard.
Two and a half weeks later, the movers finally get here with my stuff. I get everything all settled in and what not. And now here I am in my big ole apartment that is now furnished.... kinda. There are still some things that I still need to get... like a table and chairs is the main thing I need. And then just some decorative things. I'm so indecisive about it all though. I want to get everything at the same time so I can get everything that goes together, and then come home do it and just be done with it.
Last weekend I went and saw my dad's parents in Utah. It was fun! I have a new dislike for the city of Beaver, UT though. The most expensive gas stop I have ever made and probably ever will make. I stop and start pumping gas into my car. There is a mechanic shop attached to the gas station, and one of the mechanics starts walking in my direction. I see him walking and I think it is kinda weird. I finish pumping my gas and am about to go inside to kinda walk around a bit and maybe grab a snack. I see the mechanic kneel down by my front tire and he checks my tire pressure. Tells me my pressure is low and that he will fill it up for free for me. I'm thinking sweet. So I drive over to the air pump he is about to fill it up, and I here him go uh oh. I know that's not good. He tells me to come on over to look at the tire. I thought maybe I had a nail in it or something. Oh no I the beginnings of a pretty good size bubble forming on my tire, and dry rot. I needed a new tire. He then went around to all of my tires and they were all like the first one. He asked me how far I was going and I told him just out side Salt Lake. He tells me that my tires most likely will not make it to salt lake with how bad they are, so I don't get one new tire, not two new tires, but FOUR new tires! And since it was a small town they only had one tire that fit my car, and they were $140/tire after the small discount he gave me. My little stop to get gas ended up costing me $700 after all was said and done. It was awful. But I'm pretty sure he probably saved my life since the speed limit is 80 almost the whole way there and if I had had a blow out going 80.... it would have most likely been death for me. So thanks mechanic guy in beaver, I guess I owe you! Once I got to the grandparents it was great I had a wonderful visit. I got to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with them. I was sad to leave but duty called at work. I'll be up again too see them soon though.
Lately I have just been working and trying to figure out what I am going to do with my apartment now. I'm going to look at paint swatches tomorrow, and maybe buy some paint to start making this place a home. We shall see.
Oh and I have no idea how I have internet connection right now, but I thought I'd take advantage of it while I could.
