Update...

Ok so it has been a while since I last blogged anything. Sadly I no longer have the teal hair. That lasted for about a week. My job would not let me work with it like that so I changed it back to brown. It was a very sad day for me.

I have started training to be a manager at Saltgrass. I really like it a lot. I get to talk to a lot more guests and if they are upset I get to try to make them happy again. It is such a good feeling when you are able to make them happy again. Sometimes all it takes is for them to know that you are one of the managers on duty, and they are put at ease. I work longer days now, and I am more tired than usual but I think it is going to be worth it.
I know a lot are thinking well what about school... well that is kinda on hold right now but not really. I wanted to go to culinary school and half the classes are about learning the business side of things, and I am going to be learning that as a manager. So I am going to look into some baking/cake decorating classes around town. I'll take a couple of those and then just practice so I can get better and master the techniques. Then I'll try to start to build cliental so I can eventually open my own store. So there is my plan for the next 5-10 years. I'm hoping a lot closer to the 5 years.
Oh I bought myself a new car! I love it. I don't have any pictures of it yet but I'll get some soon. It is a 2010 Toyota Yaris. It's the 4-door so it doesn't look retarded. I have to start getting ready for work now but I'll get pictures up soon.

Visit from the babies and the baby mama's

It was so much fun having the babies and the baby mama's come visit. Here are some of my favorite pictures of them all.

Showin off some teeth. I just love her little smile. It is so precious.

My artsy shot. I am not the best picture taker but I did get this one and basically I love it. It is probably one of my most favorite pictures I have ever taken.

I just love this picture. I think it totally shows her little personality.

Proof that Charlotte can hold her own. Yeah she is knocking over Hailey. I don't really think that was her intention but she did.

Pretty much I just love this picture of the bug.

The almost twinners. I love Charlottes face in this one. It cracks me up.

Charlotte being pulled on her blanket. She pretty much had a blast.

Charlotte loved the water at the beach.
OK so really all of the pictures are my favorite but that would be about 200+ pictures and I just really don't have the time to put them all up.

Adventure at Kelsey-Seybold Main Campus.....

When you hit a certain age , you are to go in periodically to get your colon checked out..... Unfortunately my dad has reached said age. Since mom could not get off of work, I went in her place. Once they called dad back for the procedure to be done I was rather bored. I had my ipod to listen to but it was not doing a very good job keeping me entertained. About an hour later, they call the family of Daniel Nelson to come back. I get up and head on back there to see him. He was sleeping when I got there. I had no idea if I was supposed to try to wake him up or just chill until he decided to wake up. I chose the latter. After about ten minutes of waiting and the little machine saying he had no blood pressure, which he really did because he had a strong pulse, I decided I would try to wake him up. So I call his name a couple times and he opens his eyes and looks at me and says, "Oh, well I guess I already had everything done." I told him that he had. He was asleep again already. I say his name again and then I'm talking to him a little bit trying to see how he was feeling and everything. The nurse comes in and checks everything. She leaves again and dad is going in and out the whole time. Then he kinda wakes up a little bit and is telling me about how the nurse missed his vein when she was putting the IV in and then he started to doze a little bit. He opened his eyes a little and then he started chuckling to himself a little bit. I was real confused about what he was laughing at, but he went on to tell me that he was relaxed and he opened his eyes just in time to see a little penguin dance across the foot of his bed. I was dying laughing!
Then, he asks to see the little print out of the pictures they took of his They took a picture of a polyp that they found, don't worry the biopsy came back alright, and he goes on to say "Hmm I have a little breast inside me." I was trying so hard to keep my laughter in, and asked him what he was talking about. He then showed me the picture and low and behold he was right. That is what it looked like in the picture.
He got up to use the bathroom. The nurse helped him up and everything, and helped in there and closed the door behind her and then she was getting everything ready for him to see the doctor again. She and I were chatting a little bit and she noticed she hadn't heard anything in the bathroom for a little while. (They pump your stomach and intestines with air when they do the prosedure so it has to get out somehow.) So, she being a knowledgeable nurse yells out, "Mr. Nelson, keep your eyes open, and take long slow breaths." Then you here from the bathroom, "Can you like see me in here?" I once again started laughing.
We get to talk to the doctor eventually and while we are waiting I hear about how the nurse messed up on his IV about another 5 times.
On the way home, it is about 2pm, and dad insists on getting the GPS out and using it to see if there is any traffic to avoid..... There was not any traffic.... the whole way.... and he was still trying to do it.... while telling me about the nurse missing his vein. It finally started working when we were almost home. And the GPS let me know there was no traffic to avoid. Oh and we are about 2 minutes from the house and he tells me that I better get home quick because he was feeling nauseous. I stepped on that gas like nobodies business and got him home fast. I was not going to be cleaning out that car. Then we arrived home and he went to sleep again.
That is my adventure at the Kelsey- Seybold Main Campus clinic.

There's nothing wrong with Ohio....

I went to Ohio earlier this month, and had a blast. I got to spend time with Laura, Adam, and Charlotte. It was so much fun. Laura and I went to the art museum and amish country. We all went to the John Johnson farm and Kirtland and the park. Basically we had fun wiht whatever we did because that is just how we roll. I'll just put up some of the pictures and videos I took while I was there. There are some good ones.... If any of you look at my mom's blog you may see some duplicates due to the fact that she stole some of my pictures.....

I put the camera down on her level and she was so excited.

BIG BROWN EYES!! I love them!
Such a happy baby.
All ready to eat..... She gets a bib when dad feeds her...
This is basically her expression the whole time she is in the swing. She definitely has the Nelson mouth open thing down packed.
Charlotte always has that leg up in the air while she is in her carseat. It is so funny.
Adam wanted Laura to spin him on the chair to how that when you pull in all your limbs it makes you go faster..... it did not work out too well this time.
Charlotte became quite the talker while I was visiting. It was so cute I just loved it.

Not again....

My sophomore year of high school I got the ingenious idea to take up skateboarding. My career was short lived and pretty much non-existant. Tragically, it ended with me lying in the middle of the street with a busted up ankle, and the neighbors yellinng at me to get out of the street because a car was coming. My ankle has never been the same since.

Well......

I bet you all thought I was dumb enough to try the skateboarding career again. Well I did not.

Last night in an amazingly played volleyball game, I went up and blocked the ball, and made it go down on the other side... Yay point for us! But.... on my down from being in the air, someone moved, and I landed on the foot of a girl on the other team. It made my ankle twist and roll and pain there was lots of pain. I was on the ground with my ankle in the air. I heard it pop about 5 or 6 times, so I knew I was hurt pretty badly. I get up and try to see if I could put any weight on it and that was so not happening. I hop over to the side and get some ice. It is already nice and swollen, and it had only been a couple minutes. One of my team mates sisters is a nurse practicioner here in the Rexburg area so we head off to her house so I can get checked out. She examines it which did not feel real good since she had to kinda poke around on my foot, and told me that if she were to just diagnose it right there she would say it was broken. Great thats all I need is a broken ankle. So 2 of my roommates and my team mate head to Madison County Hospital, so I can get X-rays done. I get there and get into triage in a matter of minutes... the joys of living in a small town. They examine it too, which still did not feel good, and determine that I need x-rays.... duh I could have told you that one. They take the x-rays and come back in and tell me that it is too early to see if it is fractured. So they gave me an air splint and some crutches and told me that if it doesn't get any better in about a week then I should go to the orthopedic surgeon, and have him take a look at it. So today I have been iceing it and keeping it elevated and taking pictures of it. It looks pretty wicked.

Pi day

One of my roommates is the co-president of the math society here at school. So on March 14, 3/14, there was a celebration of pi. You know 3.14159.... yeah that pi. Naturally there has to be a pie eating contest on pi day, and she needed another girl to do it, so I volunteered to do it. I show up after the celebration had started, at 1:59, and waited for said pie eating contest to commence. Well it turned out that the other girls had backed out or just did not show up. So it was me against 4 guys. I was not the winner to say the least but I held my own. I would have done better if I had not just got back from eating a sad excuse for mexican food just 45 minutes before. You can see me slowing down in the video.... but the video is not going on here. It is 6 minutes long and really not that exciting. But I have a few pictures from the pie eating contest.

I was thinking.... Well where's the bathroom so I can go vomit now...
No worries.... I didn't vomit.

Thank you so much

I got out of the shower this evening, and found this on the walls of my room.
My first thought was which one of my roommates did this?..... Until I saw this one...

Yes it says Aunt Lippy on it, and my roommates don't really know that I am called that. I was real confused for a little bit.

Then I thought that Cassie had done it because she and Jonny always call me Lippy and Hailey is going to be calling me Aunt Lippy, but the hand writing was not her's or Jonny's.
I could not figure out had done this. My roommates all told me that they hadn't done it. I was really wondering who it was from now. Then my room roommate, Camie pulled out an envelope and was like I don't know if we are supposed to tell you or not. Then she told me that she had gotten it from a girl onn our ward named Brittany Brassell, and as soon as she told me that I knew who it was from and I totally recognized the handwriting.
It was from Laura and Adam!
I just want y'all to know how thankful I am for this. I've been having a little bit of a hard time lately and this totally made my night and probably my week.

Here are my favorite ones up there besides the Aunt Lippy one.

This one says, "Charlissa- You are like the '1000' flushes thing in the toilet, you always keep things 'fresh'!"

That has from Adam written all over it! Not really but that is so something that he would write.... the sad thing is that I just about died laughing when I read that one. It must be part of the Nelson sense of humor...

This one says, "Roses are red, Violets are blue, Oh sweet Charlissa how we love you"

I loved this one too just because well it is one of Adam's and it just makes me laugh. Especially since the guy here has a "chain", the black string in the picture, going from the piercing in his eye brow, to the one in his nose, to the one in his chin/lip. It cracks me up.

So again Adam and Laura thank you so very much. It meant so much to me.
Oh and P.S. I am expecting Charlotte to call me Aunt Lippy too. Just so you know. :)

Thr Good Ole Days...

My roommate Haley and I made a cake for one of our other roommates for her birthday. We decided we were going to throw her a fiesta... Which really just consisted us having chips and salsa and guacamole.... and a sombrero cake of course! OK so the cake really ended up looking more like a safari hat but we had limited resources.

Now on to the reason of the title of this blog.

Back in the day when mom would make cakes, she would write our names on our forearm with the frosting she was using to decorate the cake with. Naturally, I had to keep the tradition going for myself. So I wrote my name on my forearm with the frosting we used in the decorating of this beautiful cake.

Fun times in Orem

I went to Orem to see Cassie and Jonny this past weekend and I got to see one of the cutest babies in the whole entire world.

Hailey is getting sooo big. I saw her about a month ago too and she has gotten so much bigger.

Hailey loves to squeel. I was able to get the tail end of one of her squeels, but as soon as I would turn the camera on she would stop and when I stopped she would do it like 2 seconds after I stopped.

I wanted to get a video of her giggling but I was not able to get one. She has the cutest little laugh. Jonny can really get her going. It is so cute.
I just love her.

Hair Cut

I decided I needed to kinda update my look... so I went to the Paul Mitchell Cosmotology school and got my hair chopped off.... OK so not way off but I got a good 4 inches chopped off. I really like it. I am still trying to get used to the bangs. They cut them pretty short even though I told them not to because I have a cow lick that will not work with short bangs but they were very positive that they would get them to work... But I am beginning to get used to them.

This is the back of it... kinda...

"They had been taught by their mothers...".... and fathers

Last week in my Book of Mormon class, we learned about the stripling warriors. My teacher did a huge focus on the fact that they were taught such great morals and principles by their mothers. During this discussion we talked about our mothers and read lots of quotes from prophets about mothers. I got a little bit on the emotional side because I miss my mom so much. There was on quote in particular that i thought my mom completely exemplifies. It was said by Sister Margaret Nadauld,

"Women of God can never be like women of the world. The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity."

My mother has taught me all these qualities. I have yet to master any of them but I am working on it. My mom is such a great mother. I could not ask for a better one. I have learned so many things from her. She taught me how to clean, and cook, and to do my laundry, and to pray, and to forgive, and to love. I have been taught so many other things by her, but I don't want this to be a forever long post.

We started talking about how the mother is the nurturer of the home. I mean when you feel sick or are hurt or have had a bad day who do you want? Mom. Or I know I do. I also learned the art of nurturing from my mom. She did a great job at nurturing us, and she still does.

My teacher went on about some other things but he had gotten my mind going by now and I was basically in my own world, reflecting about things.

So naturally, I started thinking about what I go to my dad about, and what i have larned from him. The first thing that came to my mind was for my spiritual needs. When I am struggling spiritually, my dad is always there for me. My mom is too, but my dad holds the priesthood. He gives me blessings when I ask. I am so thankful that he was always prepared and worthy to give us belssings as kids when we needed them most. I know the priesthood has greatly blessed my life through my dad. Here is another quote shared in my class about fathers and I think my dad did a fantastic job at doing this.

"May you always provide for the material needs of your family and, with your eternal companion at your side, may you fulfil your sacred responsibility to provide the spiritual leadership in your home." - Pres. Ezra Taft Benson

I have learned a great deal from my dad too. Like why settle for mediocre when you can be outstanding. I also learned what I want in my eternal companion. My dad puts on a real tough guy attitude, I blame the Navy for that one, but he really is a very gentle and caring man. He is on of the most respectful men I have met when it comes to a woman. I have learned how i should and should not be treated and what I deserve. I also learned to rely on the Lord when it is hardest to do so. And many other things.

My parents are pretty much amazing people. I am so happy they are my parents, and could not ever ask for anyone better than them. They are pretty much my favorite people in the world, and I love them so much. I don't know what I would do without them. They are my strength and what keeps me going through hard times.

Thank you mom and dad for everything you have done for me. Y'all are pretty much the best. I am soo grateful that I picked you as my parents!

What I missed most about Rexburg.....

THE TEMPLE

I love being able to see the temple everyday and I missed it so much while I was home. I forgot how much I loved seeing it everyday while I was home, but now that i am back in the Burg I remember. The temple here is so beautiful. I love this temple. A temple means so much more to you when you served in it during the open house, cleaned it the day before the dedication, and actually attended the dedication of the temple. The Rexburg Temple will always have a special place in my heart. Many Sundays my room mates and I would go to the temple grounds and watch the sunset. And yes many of the sunsets looked like the ones in the picture. I love Texas sunsets, but some of the sunsets here in Rexburg are absolutely phenomenal. Rexburg sunsets honestly gives Texas sunsets a run for its money. Or at least that is my own opinion.

Microbiology.....

Call me crazy, but I absolutely LOVE my microbiology class. The class is going to have a clinical focus, which I think is awesome. That basically means that the class is going to be all about bacteria and viruses and I am STOKED about it. This is how much I like the class..... When I realize I must do some reading for the class I seriously get excited. Usually when reading a text book I fall asleep, but not this one. I get completely enthralled with the subject matter. I read into chapters that we aren't going to cover or are going to be later on in the semester. I am even considering not selling back my book just so I will have something interesting to read when I am bored. I know I am a huge dork, but I'm OK with that.

And now with that all said the teasing may now commence...
